What is Shoulder Asymmetry?

Shoulder asymmetry is when the height or position of left and right shoulders differ. Caused by carrying bags on one side or resting arm on chin. Can lead to scoliosis if left untreated.

Self-Check Method

Stand straight in front of a mirror and compare both shoulder heights. Take a front photo and check if shoulder line is horizontal. You can also put fingers under collarbones to feel height difference.

Main Causes

Carrying bag on one shoulder, crossing legs when sitting, resting chin on one arm, sleeping on one side, unbalanced muscle use during exercise.

Correction Method

Switch to crossbody bag or backpack. Focus on relaxing the higher shoulder during stretching. Planks, dead hangs help balance both sides.
